17 September 2021 World Patient Safety Day: “Safe Care for Mother and Newborn”

At the 72nd World Health Board held in May 2019, 194 memer countries of the World Health Organization accepted patient safety as a global health priority and approved the decision on the "World Patient Safety Day", which will be celebrated on 17 September every year. Thus, September 17 is World Patient Safety Day; It has become a day where individual, institutional, national and international events are organized to proote patient safety, to increase social awareness and participation in patient safety and to develop global understanding and solidarity.

The goals of World Patient Safety Day are to promote global solidarity and action to increase public awareness and participation, enhance global understanding, and promote patient safety. Each year, a new priority theme is selected for global action to reduce preventable harms in healthcare
