Quality Improvement, Project and Education Management Unit
The Quality Improvement, Project and Education Management Unit is responsible for supporting the continuous quality improvement efforts of healthcare institutions operating in Türkiye through scientific contributions, expert consultancy, and educational activities; fostering organizational learning and the dissemination of best practices among healthcare institutions; promoting and disseminating scientific research in the fields of healthcare quality and accreditation through periodical publications; planning and organizing national and international scientific events; identifying project areas to be supported by the Institute; monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating supported projects; and managing the Institute’s Quality Management System. The responsibilities of the Unit are as follows:
- To manage the processes related to the Institute’s ISQua Institutional Accreditation and/or certification by other internationally recognized organizations.
- To prepare and coordinate the Institute’s Strategic Plan, Performance Evaluation, Administrative Activity Report, institutional opinions required under the relevant legislation, and other related activities.
- To carry out activities aimed at developing, institutionalizing, integrating, and coordinating quality management systems in healthcare institutions.
- To lead and support quality improvement projects in healthcare organizations and promote the dissemination of best practices.
- To develop and implement initiatives that foster and sustain a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety in healthcare institutions.
- To develop education programmes and practical initiatives that enhance the competencies, knowledge, and skills of the healthcare workforce in the field of quality improvement.
- To participate in meetings, training programmes, symposia, and similar scientific activities related to quality management and quality improvement, and to establish relevant collaborations.
- To facilitate and support the development of educational materials for healthcare professionals in the fields of quality management and quality improvement, and to plan activities related to the preparation and publication of guidelines, books, manuals, and other publications.
- To contribute to the development of educational curricula on quality improvement and patient safety for primary, secondary, and higher education programmes in healthcare.
- To contribute to the Commission established by the Presidency of the Institute regarding programmes promoting healthy living in areas outside healthcare services.
- To facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience from countries with advanced expertise in quality management and quality improvement and to implement related projects and collaborative activities.
- To implement the decisions referred to the Unit by the President of the Institute, based on the opinions, recommendations, and advisory decisions of the Scientific Committees within the scope of the Unit’s responsibilities.
- To prepare, maintain, update, and retain all records and documents related to the Unit’s area of responsibility.
- To perform the duties defined in the Principles and Procedures Governing the Fees for Accreditation Training Activities.
- To monitor national and international scientific publications in the fields of quality and accreditation.
- To organize national and international congresses, symposia, training programmes, and similar scientific events related to the Institute’s fields of responsibility.
- To coordinate relations with the Project Management and Support Department within TÜSEB.
- To identify the Institute’s priority topics for project funding calls announced by TÜSEB.
- To plan, organize, participate in, and coordinate education programmes, seminars, courses, and similar activities within the Institute’s fields of responsibility, including project management and collaborative activities.
- To manage and participate in meetings, training programmes, seminars, symposia, courses, and similar activities planned to promote and expand the implementation of Accreditation Standards, and to ensure cooperation with relevant units.
- To coordinate, participate in, and collaborate with relevant units in the implementation of Basic Training Programmes, Capacity Development Training Programmes, and Revision Training Programmes designed to establish and enhance the capacity of Healthcare Accreditation Assessors.
- To establish and maintain a sufficient number of qualified trainers for educating Healthcare Accreditation Assessors and to organize Train-the-Trainer Programmes.
- To carry out activities related to the preparation and publication of guidelines, books, manuals, and other publications required within the Institute’s fields of responsibility.
- To prepare and publish books, manuals, publications, and other materials required within the scope of Accreditation Standards and assessment methodology.
- To develop and facilitate educational materials for healthcare professionals in the fields of quality management and quality improvement, and to prepare and publish guidelines, books, manuals, and other educational resources as needed.
- To organize training and similar activities requested by Institute units, healthcare facilities, and other institutions.
- To perform any other duties assigned by the Presidency of the Institute.
