Accreditation and Quality Assessment Unit
The Accreditation and Quality Assessment Unit is responsible for carrying out the activities required to establish and maintain a pool of healthcare accreditation assessors with the knowledge and competencies required by international standards in the fields of accreditation, quality standards, and assessment management, as well as developing a qualified trainer pool responsible for the education and development of these assessors. The responsibilities of the Unit are as follows:
- To carry out all activities required for assessments conducted under the Institute’s accreditation programmes, including assessor planning in accordance with the decisions of the Board of Directors and the relevant Assessment Management System (Control Panel).
- To plan Basic Training Programmes, Capacity Development Training Programmes, and Revision Training Programmes required for establishing and enhancing the capacity of Healthcare Accreditation and Quality Assessors.
- To revise the Institute’s Healthcare Accreditation Assessor Training Programme in line with identified needs and ensure the continuity of its ISQua accreditation.
- To plan Train-the-Trainer Programmes in order to establish a sufficient number of qualified trainers for educating Healthcare Accreditation Assessors.
- To prepare the Accreditation Assessment Guide and submit it to the Presidency of the Institute.
- To contribute to the Commission established by the Presidency of the Institute regarding programmes promoting healthy living in areas outside healthcare services.
- To carry out project management, collaboration, coordination, and other activities related to the Unit’s area of responsibility.
- To plan activities related to the preparation and publication of books, manuals, publications, and other materials required within the scope of assessment methodology.
- To participate in meetings, training programmes, symposia, and similar scientific activities related to the Unit’s responsibilities, and to plan project management and collaboration activities.
- To implement the decisions referred to the Unit by the President of the Institute, based on the opinions, recommendations, and advisory decisions of the Scientific Committees within the scope of the Unit’s responsibilities.
- To prepare, maintain, update, and retain all records and documents related to the Unit’s area of responsibility.
- To monitor national and international scientific publications in the fields of quality and accreditation.
- To perform any other duties assigned by the Presidency of the Institute.
