Webinar on Improving Diagnostic Safety Has Been Held
The webinar titled “Goal 3: Improve Diagnostic Safety”, organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) within the scope of the World Patient Safety Day Goals Webinar Series 2026, was successfully held.
During the event, the impact of diagnostic errors (delayed, incorrect, or missed diagnoses) on patient safety was discussed.
In the webinar, it was emphasised that four key domains—patients, healthcare professionals, technologies, and systems/processes—play a critical role in improving diagnostic safety. In addition, the importance of continuously monitoring and improving diagnostic processes through data-driven learning, clinician engagement, and a learning health system approach was highlighted.
The webinar provided valuable contributions by presenting holistic and practical approaches to strengthening diagnostic safety within healthcare systems.
