TÜSKA’s World Patient Safety Day Event Published on the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Patient Safety Network Platform

The “Safe Care is the Right Care” themed World Patient Safety Day Symposium, organized by the Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA), was featured on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Patient Safety Network (GPSN) platform.

Held on 17 September 2025 at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital Conference Hall, the event aimed to raise awareness in the field of patient safety and to strengthen the culture of safe care in health services.

The content published on the WHO GPSN platform highlighted the opening speech delivered by TÜSKA President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram Demir and the symposium’s multidimensional sessions. The post emphasized the message, “Safe care is not a choice, it is a fundamental responsibility of health care services,” underscoring TÜSKA’s leading role in this field.

During the event, important discussions were held on leadership, education, ethical responsibility, and multidisciplinary collaboration in patient safety. In addition, Türkiye’s patient safety policies and practices aligned with the WHO Global Patient Safety Action Plan (2021–2030) were presented.

The publication of TÜSKA’s patient safety initiative on the WHO Global Patient Safety Network platform has enhanced Türkiye’s international visibility and contributed to the global recognition of the country’s national efforts to improve quality and safety in health care.
