TÜSKA Has Participated in the 2nd International Health Facility Management Symposium

The International Health Facility Management Symposium, organized for the second time this year under the motto “Sustainable and Resilient Health Facilities & BIM,” was held on January 22, 2026, hosted by Etlik City Hospital, in cooperation with University of Health Sciences, Lokman Hekim University, Northumbria University (United Kingdom), Öz Sağlık-İş Trade Union, Health Resource Management Association (SKYDER), and the Federation of Health and Social Services Associations (SADEFE).

Held with the participation of University of Health Sciences Rector Prof. Dr. Kemalettin Aydın and Director General of Public Hospitals Dr. Hakan Usta, and under the chairmanship of Ankara Provincial Director of Health, Specialist Dr. Ali Niyazi Kurtcebe, the 2nd International Health Facility Management Symposium brought together key stakeholders of the healthcare sector.

In the first session of the symposium, emphasis was placed on accreditation activities and quality management practices carried out by the Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Keziban Avcı, Academician at TÜSKA, delivered a presentation titled “Accreditation Indicators in Health Facilities,” providing evaluations on quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement processes in healthcare facilities.

The symposium was conducted in two sessions under the chairmanship of Dr. Hakan Usta, Director General of Public Hospitals; Assoc. Dr. Orhan Koç, Chairman of the Board of SADEFE; İrfan Güvendi, Board Member of Lokman Hekim; and Prof. Dr. Ali Ramazan Benli from Kayseri City Hospital.

The symposium addressed a wide range of topics, from medical facility management practices in city hospitals to sustainable and earthquake-resistant healthcare facility investments, digital operation processes, and the relationship between facility management and sustainability, resilience, and BIM.

During the symposium, where current approaches to health facility management, national and international experiences, and best practice examples were discussed, expert academics, administrators, and healthcare professionals shared their knowledge and experiences.
