The Second Online Training on Quality and Accreditation Has Been Held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

As part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality management system in hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the second session of the online training program titled “Operating Room Services Standards and Adult and Neonatal Intensive Care Standards” was held on March 5, 2026.

The program began with an opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram Demir, President of Türkiye Healthcare Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA). In his remarks, Demir emphasized the importance of standards-based approaches in improving quality and safety

in healthcare services and stated that the training programs being carried out would make a significant contribution to strengthening the culture of quality within healthcare institutions.

The training program was conducted by Specialist Dr. Ayhan Kalyoncu, Member of the TÜSKA Scientific Board for Patient and Employee Safety. Within the scope of the program, the practices that should be implemented in healthcare facilities were discussed within the framework of the Operating Room Services Standards and the Adult and Neonatal Intensive Care Standards. The contributions of these standards to enhancing patient and employee safety as well as improving service quality were evaluated in detail.

The event was attended by 52 participants from various healthcare institutions. During the program, it was emphasized that continuing similar training activities and systematically implementing practices related to these standards would make a significant contribution to raising quality standards in healthcare services, developing accreditation processes in line with international norms, and establishing a sustainable culture of quality.
