Online Training on Quality and Accreditation Has Been Conducted in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
As part of the ongoing efforts to establish and effectively implement a quality system in hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus an online training program titled “Quality and Accreditation Processes in Emergency Health Services” was held on February 26, 2026.
The program commenced with an opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram Demir, President of the Türkiye Healthcare Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA).
The training session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mücahit Avcil, Member of the TÜSKA Accreditation Executive and Certification Board. The program addressed in detail the core processes of emergency healthcare services, the institutional contributions of quality management systems to healthcare facilities, and the role of accreditation practices in institutional development and sustainable improvement.
The event brought together a total of 60 participants from various healthcare institutions. Discussions focused on enhancing quality standards in healthcare services, aligning accreditation processes with international norms, and establishing a sustainable culture of quality. In addition, participants were informed about the scope, methodology, and objectives of the 8-week training series planned by our Training Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Keziban Avcı. Within this framework, the training programs aim to contribute to strengthening the strategic capacity of Northern Cyprus in the field of healthcare.
At the end of the program, organizers and participants expressed positive feedback, emphasizing that such initiatives significantly contribute to the dissemination of quality awareness in Northern Cyprus and to strengthening institutional cooperation between Northern Cyprus and TÜSKA, which holds an authoritative position in the field of healthcare quality and accreditation in Türkiye.
It was also stated that similar training programs are planned to continue in the coming weeks.
