Establishment of the Health Care Quality System in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Is Ongoing
Upon the request of the Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the establishment of a health care quality system in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was initiated by TUSKA in 2025. Within this scope, on-site review and evaluation activities were carried out in health care facilities across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; a five-day online basic quality training programme was delivered to health care facilities; and accreditation Surveyor training activities were conducted. Between 19–23 January 2026, on-site reviews, training activities, and efforts for the establishment of the quality management system are ongoing in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus by the TUSKA Expert Delegation.
In this context, an opening meeting was held on 19 January 2026 with the participation of the Minister of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, H.E. Op. Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Düriye Deren Oygar, together with the TUSKA Expert Delegation.
The Minister of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, H.E. Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek, emphasized the importance of establishing a quality system in health care facilities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, stated that the Ministry would take a leading role in this process, and underlined the significance of TUSKA’s support.
The President of TUSKA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram Demir, expressed his great satisfaction in contributing to the health care quality system of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on behalf of TUSKA and stated that TUSKA would continue to provide contribution and support to ensure the sustainability of these efforts.
The meeting concluded with a review of the activities carried out for health care facilities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the deployment of the TUSKA Expert Delegation to the field.
Within the scope of the health care quality system activities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the TUSKA Expert Delegation consists of:
