Cooperation Opportunities with the Accreditation and Quality Control Center for Medical Institutions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan Were Evaluated at the 11th Turkish Medical World Congress
Within the scope of the cooperation planned to be carried out between the Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA) and the Accreditation and Quality Control Center for Medical Institutions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a meeting was held at the 11th Turkish Medical World Congress.
The meeting was attended by TÜSKA President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram DEMİR, Prof. Dr. Umut BEYLİK, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Keziban Avcı, and Within the scope of the cooperation planned to be carried out between the Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA) and the Accreditation and Quality Control Center for Medical Institutions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a consultation meeting was held at the 11th Turkish Medical World Ahmet ASLANCAN (Coordinator of Accreditation Programs Unit), as well as, on behalf of the Accreditation and Quality Control Center for Medical Institutions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Board Orhan ŞÜKÜROV, Head of the Department of Medical Standards and Patient Safety Aybeniz HACIYEVA, and Clinical Protocols Department Specialist Günel PAŞAYEVA.
During the meeting, potential joint activities to be carried out in the fields of quality assurance and accreditation in the health systems of the two countries, the quality standards sets to be implemented, and capacity-building activities were discussed. The delegations evaluated opportunities to strengthen quality and patient safety practices through mutual experience sharing.
TÜSKA President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram DEMİR stated that the strategic cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan would make significant contributions to strengthening the quality infrastructure of healthcare services. DEMİR provided information on TÜSKA’s international accreditation model, quality evaluation processes, training programmes, and planned improvement activities.
Speaking on behalf of the Azerbaijan delegation, Chairman of the Board Orhan ŞÜKÜROV stated that the cooperation to be established with TÜSKA would support the compliance of Azerbaijan’s healthcare institutions with quality standards and would create a foundation for a long-term partnership between the two countries.
At the meeting, a consensus was reached on initiating preparatory work for cooperation in the field of accreditation and quality between TÜSKA and the Accreditation and Quality Control Center for Medical Institutions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Within the scope of its international programmes, TÜSKA attaches great importance to developing joint projects with brother country Azerbaijan and resolutely continues its efforts to disseminate the culture of quality and patient safety in healthcare.
