Accreditation Awareness Program Conducted at Dicle University Hospital in Diyarbakır

An Accreditation Awareness Program was conducted by the Türkiye Healthcare Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA) at Dicle University Hospital in Diyarbakır on 11–12 June 2026 with the aim of enhancing quality and patient safety in healthcare services.

The program was attended by Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Ertuğrul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Dicle University Hospital; Prof. Dr. Gökhan Kırbaş, Chief Physician; Prof. Dr. Eşref Araç, Quality Director; hospital administrators, quality representatives; and healthcare professionals working in clinical departments. On behalf of TÜSKA, Prof. Dr. Gülcan Coşkun Akar and Zöhre Altun took part in the awareness program.

Throughout the program, the primary objective was to enhance participants' competencies in implementing accreditation standards in clinical practice. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the program was supported by on-site assessments, enabling healthcare institutions to review their current practices and identify areas for improvement.

The program was considered to have made a significant contribution to strengthening the quality management system and improving the institution's level of preparedness for accreditation processes. It was also emphasized that efforts would continue with determination to guide sustainable improvement initiatives across the institution and to promote a quality-focused approach to healthcare service delivery.
