TÜSKA Healthcare Accreditation Surveyor Orientation Training Has Been Conducted

The Health Care Accreditation Surveyor (SAD) training programmes of the Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA) commenced on 20 January 2026 with the “SAD Orientation Programme”, which was conducted online.

A total of 300 SADs, who successfully completed and received certificates from the SAD Candidate Basic Training Programme held twice in May and October 2025, participated in the programme.

In his opening speech, TÜSKA President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram DEMİR stated that SAD capacity and competence are of great importance in carrying out accreditation activities, which constitute a key instrument of the health system. DEMİR noted that following the SAD Candidate Basic Training Programmes conducted to increase TÜSKA’s SAD capacity, the surveyor capacity has been increased to the desired level, and that in the next phase, efforts will continue to enhance the competencies of existing SADs. He emphasised that SAD training programmes form the basis of these efforts.

Highlighting that the number of observer SADs assigned within survey teams has been increased in order to ensure the rapid adaptation of newly appointed SADs to accreditation survey processes, DEMİR stated that improving all SADs’ survey skills related to technical issues of facility management within the scope of Health Care Accreditation Standards is among TÜSKA’s objectives. He also shared information on the SAD Training Programme Webinar Series, which will start on 27 January 2025 and will be held bi-weekly, and expressed his anticipation of a productive training period.

Following the opening speech, Ahmet Aslancan, Accreditation Programmes Unit Coordinator, delivered a presentation on TÜSKA Accreditation Programmes and the amended issues related to accreditation.

Subsequently, Dr. Gülsen Koralay, Head of the Audit and Training Management Unit, delivered a presentation covering SAD qualifications, the issues that SADs are obliged to comply with within the framework of TÜSKA legislation and operational procedures, SAD duties, authorities and responsibilities, the use of the TÜSKAnet Accreditation Management System, and the evaluation of SAD performance. The training concluded following the question-and-answer session.

We anticipate that the training programmes organised to enhance the qualifications and competencies of SADs, who will contribute to the effective conduct of health care accreditation activities, will be beneficial for the health system.
